Instagram changes its algorithm to give more visibility to content creators
Instagram announced the change to its algorithm to prioritize posts from original content creators and give them "all the credit they deserve" on the platform. The option was announced along with other novelties in the labels that will help them gain relevance.
Instagram boss Adam Mosseri explained on his Twitter profile that content creators are "so important to the future of Instagram" that his app wants to make sure it gives them visibility .
Mosseri explains that those who create something "from scratch" should get "all the credit they deserve." For this reason, Instagram changed its algorithm to prioritize videos that do not contain third-party watermarks or come from external applications, such as TikTok, in sections such as Reels.
The head of Instagram also recalled other measures recently implemented and aimed at promoting original content. These include brand and product tagging, which can now be used by the entire user base of the app.
