Fruits and vegetables: the properties and health benefits, according to the color

White, red, green, yellow and blue are the primary colors of fruits and vegetables, five different shades, all very important to keep in perfect health. Each color corresponds in fact benefits and nutritional properties important to the daily well-being of the organism.

THE BENEFITS ARISING FROM THE CONSUMPTION OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES - Thanks to their water content, vitamins, minerals and fiber, fruits and vegetables are two foods essential to strengthen the defense and to ensure a body full of vitality and health. Their daily consumption also allows us to keep away the risk of obesity and certain diseases such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
It is for all these reasons that nutritionists recommend consuming at least five servings a day of fruits and vegetables. Per serving means for example, a whole fruit or 2:00 to 3:00 small, a nice plate of salad and one of cooked or raw vegetables, a salad or juice.

Included in this group asparagus, agretti, basil, broccoli, cabbage, artichokes, cucumbers, chicory, lettuce, arugula, parsley, spinach, zucchini and kiwi. Derive their color from chlorophyll and are rich in carotenoids, magnesium, vitamin C, folic acid and lutein, important for eye health.
