Peru, a country situated in the western side of South America officially known as Republic of Peru .It is the third largest country of South America. It faces the South Pacific Ocean nearly 2,414kmon the west and is bordered by Ecuador, Columbia on the north and, Brazil on the east, Bolivia on the southeast and Chile on the south.  Peru is geographically divided into 3 different zones by the Andes Mountain. Much of it is arid towards the west coastline. In the central there lies mountain region with peaks over 20,000ft, deep valleys and plateaus. Toward the east there are tropical forests of Amazon Basin. 



It climate varies from region to region .January and March are wet everywhere in the country. The coastal areas which are quiet hot although the year are cooled down by La Garuua. The Andes are very warm and clear for most part of the year. Towards the mountain the night temperature are quiet cold. The Eastern slope of Andes gets a heavy rainfall from January to April. Peru has a very rich history it was once home to North Chico Civilization and the Inca Empire which is one of the oldest civilization.


 The Spanish conquered the region in 16th century and established many Spanish colonies. Peru gained its independence in 1821, after which it has successfully risen from its debts and fiscal crisis .Peru has a population of 29.5 million and is a developing country with poverty line of around 31%; its main economic activities are agriculture, mining, fishing and manufacturing of textiles. Its population is estimated to be about 29.5 million .Peru has a multiethnic society with Amerindians, Africans, Europeans and Asians. This mix cultural tradition has resulted in a wide variety in fields like music, art, literature and cuisine. Spanish is the main spoken language but there are also other languages that are spoken like Quechua spoken by Peruvians.


There are a number of attractions in Peru, main attraction includes the archeological remains and colonial architecture of Pre-Columbian culture and the Inca empire .Qosqo (Cuzco) which was the centre of Inca Empire which is still very much evident in the city with walls, doorways, arches and decorative stonework. The Inca Trail and Machu Piccu is also considered as one the most spectacular trekking journey in the continent. It takes around 3-5 days and the route passes through 13000 foot Andean pass.


Peru is a paradise in ecological tourism, Andes which has a picturesque beauty, also the narrow lowland coastal region and to the north the Atacama Desert which is known as the most arid region of the world is also very famous. The three major cities of Peru, Lima, Trujillo and Chiclayo that located along the coast of desert of Atacama should also not be missed. Peru also gives a great scope for adventure to its travellers in the dense forest surrounded by Amazon and slopes of Andes. This is one the most inaccessible part of the country and is reachable only through air or boat. The Parque National Huascaran, Arequipa, Colca canyon is also worth watching.
