These vibrant and intimate photographs capture the first Indian lesbian wedding to have taken place in America. And they are truly beautiful.
The couple in question are Shannon and Seema, who first met at a boot camp fitness class which Shannon was teaching.
Shannon said that, for her at least, it was love at first sight.
‘I turned to another instructor and said “I’m going to marry her”,’ she told Buzzfeed.
And, six years later, Shannon’s predication came true in spectacular style.
Shannon and Seema’s wedding was captured on camera by photographer Steph Grant, who specialises in LGBT weddings.

On her website Steph explains: ‘I have been anticipating this wedding for years now. Shannon and Seema are special to me and I am honored that they chose me to be their wedding photographer.’
She went on: ‘There was so much love that… evening. Friends and family came pouring in with smiles, hugs and tears… these two are clearly loved and in love.’
Here are some of the most beautiful images from the day…
Steph, keen to include some American wedding traditions in their ceremony, was walked down the aisle by her mother
In keeping with Hindu tradition, Seema was carried into her wedding on a Doli by her family
