2 policemen beaten by 'Jubo League men' in Natore
Two policemen were beaten allegedly by Jubo League activists near Awami League office in Natore district this afternoon.
The injured are Hasib Uddin and Selim Hossain – both constables working with Natore Police Lines.
Police detained four persons – Nadim, Zakir, Moin and Sagar – in this connection.
Liton Kumar Saha, Superintendent of Police in Natore, said the two policemen came under attack as they, on a motorcycle, were coming to the district town from Police Lines around 12:30pm.
As the bike of the policemen hit Nadim's bike, the latter along with 8-10 of his associates locked in an argument with the cops. They beat up the police personnel and hit them with bricks before fleeing, he said.
With injuries, they were first sent to Natore Sadar Hospital and later to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Ruhul Amin Biplob, general secretary of the Natore District unit of Jubo League said the attackers are not leaders but activists of Jubo League.
Some of the attackers have been handed over to the police, he said, and demanded action against those responsible after proper investigation. Read More...
