2025 Icelandic Music Awards Winners Announced
The 2025 Icelandic Music Awards took place on March 12, celebrating the best of the country’s vibrant music scene. A total of 26 awards were presented, including the prestigious Honorary Award and the title of Brightest Hope in Icelandic music, as reported by Vísir. The event featured surprise appearances, including a special performance by British-Icelandic music icon Damon Albarn, and showcased a variety of talented artists.
Among the standout performances were those by Rebekka Blöndal, Múr, Sif Margrét Tulinius, Kaktus Einarsson, Bríet, and Nýdönsk. The Honorary Award was presented to Steinar Berg Ísleifsson, a music publisher recognized for his significant contributions to Icelandic music, with his influence evident in many of the country’s most notable works. Additionally, Múr was named the Brightest Hope in Icelandic music, reflecting their rising prominence in the industry.
