As Hansbro explains in his new book, The Good Gut Anti-Inflammatory Diet, one of the easiest ways to lower inflammation is to keep your gut microbiome in balance. How? Fill your plate with nutritious, fibre-rich foods.
“While fibre isn’t a complete cure for a poor diet, some research supports the idea that eating over 30g daily can help lower your risk of developing chronic diseases,” explains Hansbro.
Not sure how to get your fibre fix? Make friends with porridge. According to Gabrielle Newman, nutritionist for lifestyle program The Fast 800, you can give your breakfast a hefty fibre boost by swapping instant oats for the whole rolled variety.
