5 useful tips for proper hair care when you are on vacation
Raise your hand if your hair is also going through a rough patch when you're on vacation. Probably every woman has returned home from a sunny holiday with a faded hair color and burnt ends. But it's not just the heat that affects our hair on holiday – chlorinated pool water and the quality of it when we shower are factors to consider.
Below, you have a list of tips that can help you maintain your hair on vacation and prevent it from breaking.
1. Try to combat water quality
Areas where the water is fresh will make your hair smooth and silky to the touch, however if your hair doesn't react well when it's way too hydrated, this fresh water could ruin your hair and make your holiday nightmare. Don't forget to put volume hair products in your already overcrowded luggage to combat the effect of fresh water.
When the water is salty, the hair can become dry, dehydrated, in other words a disaster if it is also exposed to heat, sun and chlorine. Make sure you bring moisturizing hair products.
2. Protects hair
Apply a nutrient -rich oil in the morning before you hit the beach to protect your hair from the sun, sea salt and chlorine, then wash it off when you get home.
3. Protects the scalp
It is essential to wear a hat or hair scarf as you need to protect your head from the sun. Not only does it help prevent sunstroke , but it also prevents hair from discolouring. Your head is the part of your body that can burn most easily when exposed to the sun, especially if your hair is not very thick. Not only is it very painful, but your scalp will be very damaged and your skin will even peel if you get sunburned. If this happens apply an aloe vera gel to soothe the scalp.
If aloe vera gel doesn't work either, when you get home apply coconut oil to your scalp and leave it there for an hour or two. Read More…
