Eyes are a window to the soul, as they say. Even if you have your skincare regime down pat and are a whizz with makeup, tired eyes can give you a worn-out look.

So, how can you keep your eyes in tip-top condition and let only the naturalist sparkle shine from within?

Follow these top tips for sparkling eyes, and you’re sure to be amazed!

#1 Massage your eyes

If you want to take your eye care game to the max, use an ultra-gentle eye massage to help promote lymph drainage, soften wrinkles, diminish dark circles and fatigue, and depuff your eyes.

Make your hands warm by rubbing them together, then place them over your eyes. Now, gently massage the eye area in a circular motion. You can also apply a small amount of pressure to relieve tension headaches. Do this for about 10 minutes, while your tension starts to ease.

You can also put on a cool, damp cloth to help relax the muscles around your eyes.

#2 Maintain good eye health

Makeup tips alone won’t fix red, dry, scratchy, and puffy eyes. But luckily, caring for your eyes is easy.

If you live in a hot or high-altitude climate, the air quality can be remarkably dry, which is a big cause of red or itchy eyes. And the more you fuss with them, the puffier they become. For those with allergies, it’s even worse.

· Know your allergens and avoid them as much as possible. Pollen, dust, and pet dander can irritate and inflame your eyes. Stay inside when pollen counts are high, and keep your house clean to minimize dust exposure.

· Add a humidifier to the spaces you spend the most time- think offices and bedrooms—to restore a more comfortable humidity level—resulting in beautiful bright eyes.

· Use ‘tears in a bottle’ eye drops, designed to lubricate and soothe itchy eyes.

· Avoid prolonged exposure to dry winds and smoke, whether it’s on a motorcycle or just the natural climate, and care for your peepers.

· Rubbing your eyes often can make them look bloodshot. Resist the urge to touch them.

· Use an extra pillow under your head at night to prevent fluid retention around your eyes.

#3 Depuff

While many modern beauty ranges carry caffeine-infused serums you can use to reduce puffiness and get sparkling eyes, there are home-brewed solutions you can use, too!

Simply brew yourself a strong cup of green tea with two teabags, let the bags cool completely (or pop them in the fridge for 15 minutes for an added boost), and place them over your eyes for 10 minutes. The EGCG, a natural compound in green tea, is an anti-inflammatory with added antioxidant effects, helping to calm and soothe stressed skin and dry eyes.

Alternatively, you can use two thick cucumber slices (also packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties).

To brighten up your eyes instantly, chill a wet flannel in the fridge and dab it on.

#4 Follow an eye beauty routine

A good eye beauty routine can help you get clear eyes naturally and make them look more awake.

· Take off all makeup before bedtime. Use a gentle eye-makeup remover and wipe gently with a warm washcloth.

· After that, cleanse your face gently with a mild cleanser.

· Next, apply an organic or natural eye cream or serum designed to hydrate and brighten your delicate eye area.

· Last but not least, always apply sunscreen around your eyes, even if you do not plan to spend time outdoors.
