A 70-year-old elephant celebrates like a calf as she is finally set free
This is Noi Nah. She’s 70, not that you can tell from these pictures.
The elderly elephant has a long and hard life being used as an entertainment animal in Thailand’s tourist industry.
Fortunately, the old lady has now been rescued and she’s set to spend the rest of her life in the Elephant Nature Park.
Noi Nah lives in the centre’s rescue and rehabilitation department.

The staff charged with her care have taken to calling her Grandmother. Aww.
Although she’s pretty skinny and still carries the scars from her old life, Noi Nah is really pleased to finally be free.

When she first arrived at the park she had a learned distrust of humans, but after an elephant-sized portion of TLC she’s learned to enjoy herself.
Here she is having a blast in a pond.
