Our recent find is a gem 90 minutes’ from Jo’burg, the delightful Lejwe La Metsi Private Reserve. It’s breath-taking, five-star and exactly where we recommend you take your next romantic or family getaway.
Inspired by Africa’s generous bounty of wide-open wilderness, and in response to the far-reaching love and fascination for the Mother Continent’s raw, primal beauty, the owners of Lejwe La Metsi Private Reserve have chosen to share their pristine slice of nature with the world.
Privately owned, the extravagantly comfortable destination was opened commercially in February 2022. Lejwe La Metsi’s owner comments, “Lejwe La Metsi is indescribably beautiful and we’ve worked hard to create an ineffably luxurious wilderness destination here. Perhaps of greatest convenience is Lejwe La Metsi’s location – just 90 minutes’ drive from Johannesburg. The malaria-free reserve comprises just over 2,500 hectares of breathtaking Waterberg landscape – undulating hills and rocky outcrops, vast grasslands, thick bushveld – all home to a variety of wildlife.
Lejwe La Metsi – which aptly translates to “Rock of Water” – lies nestled within a protected valley, surrounded by cascading waterfalls and lush flora.
