Actor Geir Bà¸rresen dies aged 79
Actor and singer Geir Børresen has died, aged 79. He died after a short illness, his family told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
Geir Børresen was in several children’s programs on NRK in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
He also found success as a recording artist with music about the Smurfs.
Børresen was employed at the National Theater for 20 years, from the moment he made his debut in “Den sundesløse” in 1968. As a freelancer, he played at several other theatres, including Oslo Nye Teater and Centralteatret.
His TV debut came in 1971 as a presenter in the children’s TV series “Lekestue,” together with Vibeke Sæther. He also played several roles in films.
Børresen was born in Oslo but lived most of his adult life in Asker. He leaves behind a wife, children, and grandchildren, NRK reports. Read More…
