Apple set for new Cambridge offices in CB1

Tech giant Apple is preparing to move into the new 30 Station Road building which has 80,000 sq ft of space and capacity for up to 900 employees.
Apple will join international employers including Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung and WeWork which are located in Brookgate’s mixed-use CB1 development.
The new building offers seven floors of Grade A flexible office accommodation. Interior fit-out works are expected to be finished by September.
The building is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of excellent for sustainability and it has brown and green roofs providing habitats for bats, kestrels and other species. It will have 302 cycle parking spaces and a basement car park with 51 spaces and 10 electrical charging ports.
Designed by architecture and design practice tp bennett, the building is described as a ‘cube within a cube’.
The façade is part of an art lighting installation that will connect buildings along Station Road.
The development includes new public realm at ground level that will form part of a landscaped ‘linear park’ almost the entire length of Station Road on its southern side, which will be completed with the construction of 10 & 20 Station Road.

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, jointly-funded the scheme with the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers.
