Artistic and cultural holidays: introduction to traditions
About fifty children aged 3 to 18 were built on the treasures of their cultuers for more than a month
at the National Museum in Yaoundé.
After nearly two months of learning to understand cultural heritage, about fifty young people aged 3 to 18
unveiled their "know-how" in front of parents and loved ones on August 11th. It was within the framework of the closing of the activities of the second edition of "Artistic and cultural holidays" organized by the National Museum in Yaoundé, since July 1st. A festive air took over the esplanade of this direction of the Ministry of Arts and Culture to the delight of parents who came in large numbers for the occasion. Through musical, theatrical and dance performances, exhibitions of works of art, these young people have amazed more than one. “The activities took place from Tuesday to Friday, for four hours. The various workshops selected for the occasion were dance, heritage music, crafts, multimedia art, theatrical art, poetry, storytelling, drawing, painting and pottery,” said Ivan Etta Ojang, Deputy Director of the National Museum. For better monitoring of activities, specialists in different fields have put their expertise to work. Like the experts of the Mission for the Promotion of Local Materials (Mipromalo) who provided a framework to facilitate the process of learning children about pottery.
