Austria's Eurovision 2025 Entry "Wasted Love" Set for Release on March 6
Austria’s national broadcaster, ORF, has announced that the country’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, titled “Wasted Love,” will officially be released on March 6. The song, performed by artist JJ, is expected to make its debut on the popular radio show Ö3-Wecker.
In anticipation of the release, a special press event will take place at the Vienna State Opera on March 5, where JJ will be formally introduced to the media. This event marks an exciting moment for both the artist and the Eurovision community.
Earlier reports indicated that seven songs were considered for Austria’s Eurovision selection, including two tracks by Philip Piller and Dominic “Dodo” Muhrer, who previously represented the country in 2015 as part of The Makemakes. “Wasted Love” was selected from Austria’s first-ever songwriting camp, which was dedicated to creating potential entries for the contest.
The final decision for the song was made by three juries: a 30-member panel of Austrian and international music professionals, a 30-member Eurovision fan jury from five different OGAE clubs, and ORF’s Eurovision editorial team.
This year marks Austria’s 58th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2024, the country was represented by Kaleen with the song “We Will Rave,” which finished in 24th place with 24 points. With “Wasted Love,” Austria hopes to make a strong impression in the upcoming competition.
