Bali Airport readies Integrated Air Transport Command Post for Eid

State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) has set up the Air Transport Integrated Command Post at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, for 16 days until May 10, 2022.
The post has been set up to prepare for Eid al-Fitr travelers.
The effort has been taken to ensure the safety and security of airport service users during the 2022 Eid homecoming period, as passenger numbers are predicted to increase.
"The command post is one of our efforts to ensure the security and safety of passengers at the Ngurah Rai airport," general manager of AP I at Ngurah Rai Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado, noted on Monday.
In its operations, the Air Transport Integrated Command Post, guarded by Angkasa Pura officers, will synergize with stakeholders, namely the Regional IV Airport Authority, Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), Airnav Indonesia, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the Immigration Office, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Port Health Office (KKP), airlines, and ground handling crew.
Sikado informed that the airport management is also alerting personnel to monitor the readiness of facilities and services during busy hours at Bali Airport, especially the flow of departing and arriving passengers.
"We need to anticipate the spike in passengers number at the Bali airport during the Eid holiday as well as after the opening of international flight activities at Bali Airport, which have started to show positive growth. Therefore, we need to be on alert through this Air Transport Integrated Command Post," he added.
Head of Region IV Airport Authority, Putu Eka Cahyadhi, said that his party appreciates the opening of the Eid Air Transport Integrated Command Post, which would ensure the smooth implementation of homecoming and return flows at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
