Belgian football federation elects 1st female president
On Monday, Pascale Van Damme was elected as the inaugural female president of the Belgian football federation. In a statement, Van Damme expressed her confidence in the collective commitment of the RBFA board, the board of directors, and other affiliated organizations such as the Pro League, Voetbal Vlaanderen, and the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football to forge ahead together and shape a promising future for the Red Devils, the Red Flames, and the countless footballers, fans, and members they represent. Emphasizing the importance of unity, she stated, "Better Together!"
Following the departure of Paul Van den Bulck, who resigned after less than a year in office, the RBFA board designated Van Damme as his successor. Notably, Roberto Martinez, the 49-year-old manager of Belgium, resigned on December 2nd last year following the team's elimination from the 2022 Qatar World Cup during the group stage. In February, Domenico Tedesco was appointed as the new head coach, succeeding Martinez.
