Berlin's Festival of Lights celebrates its 20th Anniversary
Berlin's Festival of Lights is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in grand style, starting on Friday, October 4, and running until October 11, 2024. Each evening from 7 pm to 11 pm, Berlin's iconic landmarks, buildings, and streets will come to life with stunning light displays, drawing over two million visitors to witness the spectacle.
This year's theme, "Celebrating Freedom," promises to make the 2024 edition bigger and better than ever, with 100 locations between the Brandenburg Gate and the TV Tower transformed into vibrant light canvases.
Historical monuments, squares, and streets will be illuminated across 100,000 square meters, with visually captivating displays set up by leading international light artists. Notable locations include the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin TV Tower, Berlin Cathedral, and Bebelplatz, alongside Potsdamer Platz, Schloss Charlottenburg, and Victory Column.
In addition to the mesmerizing light projections, the festival will feature a variety of art events, including music performances, parties, and special guided tours.
Visitors can also explore art and photography workshops, galleries, and exhibitions throughout the city, making the festival an immersive experience that celebrates both the city's history and creativity.
