Bolivia stabilizes prices and economic growth

Bolivia is experiencing a stage of price stability, economic growth and unemployment reduction in the face of the world crisis, through new government measures, the Minister of Planning, Sergio Cusicanqui explained today.
The initiatives comprise the so-called Community Productive Social Economic Model (Mescp), the official said.
Bolivia is achieving this progress, which includes a 4.2 percent decrease in unemployment this year, despite the complex international situation due to the war between Russia and Ukraine and the Covid-19 pandemic, the minister recalled.
The aforementioned unemployment rate is from May 2022 and is 7.4 percentage points lower than the 11.6 percent found by the government in July 2020 with the administration of then de facto President Jeanine Añez.
“This scenario of growth and improvement of these indicators contrasts, moreover, with the situation experienced by other countries in Latin America and the world,” the Minister of Planning said.
Cusicanqui cited among the supply and demand measures implemented through Mescp to reactivate the economy, since November 2020, the Bono Contra el Hambre(voucher against hunger) , the Sí Bolivia credit, the Re-IVA and the resumption of public investment.
