Box Office Triumph: 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' Sets Unprecedented Milestones in Lahore
The film starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan has not only shattered all previous box office records in Pakistan but has also achieved remarkable feats that were once unimaginable. Breaking these records will prove to be a formidable challenge for any local or Hollywood production in the years to come.
According to trade analyst Ali Zain, 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' has already surpassed 115 crore PKR at the Pakistani box office, with an astounding collection of 54.2 crore PKR in 32 weeks from Lahore alone. In a country where reaching 50 crore for a film's lifetime earnings from nationwide screenings is considered a significant achievement, the fact that this film achieved such numbers from just one city is nothing short of extraordinary.
The movie premiered in 17 cinemas across Lahore, but it was the renowned CUE cinema that emerged as the frontrunner, contributing over 20 crores to the total. This means that approximately 37% of the film's earnings in Lahore came from a single cinema property, namely CUE. This accomplishment in itself stands as a record in Pakistan, with no other cinema property having generated more than 20 crores from a single film.
