Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) is set to introduce a postgraduate program specializing in the business and financial applications of artificial intelligence (AI) starting September 2024. This new initiative aims to equip students with practical skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset tailored to the evolving demands of the business and finance sectors.
The program will provide comprehensive training that goes beyond basic computer science and data analytics. It aims to develop a proactive and problem-solving attitude in students, preparing them for real-world challenges.
The courses are designed for candidates interested in technology, even if they do not have specific IT or engineering backgrounds. This inclusivity allows a broader range of professionals to gain expertise in AI applications.
Students will receive a theoretical introduction to AI, followed by practical applications and case studies. This approach ensures that they understand both the foundational concepts and their practical implementations.
Thanks to a collaboration with ASU, ranked among the top universities globally, METU will offer educational materials that enhance the learning experience. This partnership brings international expertise and resources to the program.
The training includes hands-on projects where students can create AI-based solutions. They will also learn about prompting market-leading large language models and gain insights into broader AI applications, challenges, risks, and ethical-legal issues.
Péter Fáykiss, the head of the new training program, emphasized that the course is a response to the labor market's increasing demand for AI experts in the financial and business sectors. The program aims to help students acquire a creative and proactive approach relevant to various disciplines.
