Renowned author Georgi Gospodinov made a special appearance at the Spring Book Fair. He will be engaging with his avid readers at the Janet-45 publishing house booth, located in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK).
In recent hours, captivating images have surfaced, capturing the scene of patient individuals forming a queue outside the publisher's booth, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to purchase Gospodinov's latest novel, "Time Shelter." The news of this literary masterpiece securing the prestigious "Booker" International Literary Prize resulted in a swift depletion of available copies in Sofia's bookstores. To meet the soaring demand, a new edition of the novel was swiftly released at the end of May, ensuring that those desiring it can now acquire their copy, alongside Gospodinov's other literary works.
Following the conclusion of his appearance at the Book Fair, the National Television will broadcast a captivating documentary film chronicling the life and accomplishments of this esteemed writer. Titled "Georgi Gospodinov in the Refuge of Time," this documentary is part of the esteemed television series "BNT Presents," and it aired on May 31st at 9:00 p.m. Notably, the film was crafted prior to Gospodinov's inclusion in the long list of contenders for the Booker Prize and was skillfully directed by Pavel G. Vesnakov.
