Cameroon: Gov't disburse 48.3 billions Fcfa to settle teachers' strike
2.7 billion CFA F was given on March 7, 2022 as a solution for striking teachers. But their crisis did not stop. The government therefore decided to give an additional 45.6 billion to resolve the issue. It was annonced yesterday by the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi.
By the end of this year, Cameroon government takes the oath of settling the debt for the unpaid housing allowances of the 5,289 staff at the Ministry in charge of Secondary Education as well as the debt arising from the partial integration of the 20,449 personnel of the ministry.
With regards the salary arrears caused by these measures, it was said at the press conference that the government will pay 28 billion CFA F this year. And for the other 31 billion 900 CFA F, they will be paid in 2023.
It was also the opportunity for State’s authorities to take the engagement of proceeding during this month of March at the payment of the monthly salary supplement owed to teachers with or without integration decrees, who currently receive only 2/3 of their salary. Read More...
