Cameroon : World Bank appreciates gov't support to councils
Cameroon recently reinforced it’s decentralisation process. This initiative aims at making decentralised local communities to be autonomous and to efficiently manage themselves.
Leading them to such a point constitutes an important stake for the government. For this reason, besides the ministry of decentralisation and local development, other institutions work in that line. It is for instance the case of the ministry of urban development and housing.
The ministry headed by Célestine Ketcha Courtes provides assistance to councils of the country in aspects like infrastructural development. These actions are highly appreciated by foreign institutions.
