Celebrated Zimbabwean Playwright Cont Mhlanga Dies

In a sad development, celebrated Zimbabwean playwright Cont Mdladla Mhlanga has died aged 59.
A family statement confirmed Mhlanga’s death saying he passed away on Monday morning.
The Amakhosi Theatre Productions founder was hospitalised in Bulawayo recently with an undisclosed ailment.
Prior to his admission to a health care facility, Cont Mhlanga had been under constant and close medical supervision since Friday 22 July.
A statement released by his family confirmed Mhlanga’s death. Cont Mhlanga’s family said the celebrated playwright’s condition was stable but it took a different turn three days ago.
The family said Zimbabweans will be informed of further details regarding Cont Mhlanga’s funeral.
The statement reads:
