Cost of books in Venezuela remains between 5 and 25 dollars
The vice president of the Chamber of Publishers of Venezuela, Julio Mazparrote, stated that 10 years ago there were 25 publishers dedicated to printing school textbooks, but currently there are only 8 operating and added that the cost of books remains between 5 and 25 dollars.
In an interview for Unión Radio , Mazparrote pointed out that the sector is affected by book piracy and the economic crisis that the country has been facing for several years. “What we are asking this year is for the representatives and teachers to pay only to formal bookstores and school suppliers to purchase their texts to avoid falling into the deception of buying books that are not the originals. ”
He also explained that for this year teachers have shown interest in the use of school textbooks due to the need to reverse the closeness that occurred with digital media in the last two years of the pandemic. Read More…
