Do you have allergies? These cleaning tips will help you
Weekly or regular house cleaning is an important form of allergy control. Even the act of cleaning, especially if it hasn't been done for a while, can trigger allergy symptoms as dust and other allergens are stirred up.
If you've neglected cleaning for several weeks, you should wear a protective mask to avoid inhaling all the household dust, and use the right cleaning tools and products to trap allergens and avoid exposure to chemicals that can cause allergic reactions.
Control indoor temperature and humidity. Dust mites and mold spores like it hot and humid. If you maintain a temperature between 20 to 22 ËšC and a humidity level of no more than 50 percent, you can reduce their growth.
Change or clean filters monthly. Use small particulate filters on central heating, cooling, and room air conditioners.
Eliminate pests. Use traps or a professional exterminator and seal any cracks that may allow pests and mice to enter the house. Also, you should remove clutter and dust collectors from living spaces.
Keep pets out of the house. Bathe pets at least weekly and wash their bedding weekly, if possible not allowing them to move around inside the home.
How to clean each space of the home?
- Bedroom: Since we spend so many hours in our rooms surrounded by many soft surfaces that trap dust, it is essential to clean everything weekly. It is recommended to start with the bed.
Sheets, pillowcases, and blankets should be washed at least once a week in hot water. If you have allergies, never lay your bedding outside to dry because pollens from outside can get into the fabric of your sheets.
It is better to opt for washable bedspreads or duvets, it is also recommended to cover pillows, mattresses and box springs with mite-proof covers. Pillows should be cleaned regularly.
Clean the bedroom weekly, starting at the top and working your way down. Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures. Dust the blinds and/or wash the curtains. Dust any furniture and, using hand tools, vacuum upholstered furniture. Read More…
