Ethiopian Stir Fried Beef(Tibs) Recipe
Tibs is an Ethiopian dish consisting of stir-fried meat and vegetables. The dish can be served in a wide variety of manners – ranging from mild to hot and containing a small amount of vegetables, lots of vegetables, or no vegetables at all.
Due to the usage of various types of meat, there are numerous variations of this Ethiopian delicacy. Tibs is usually prepared as a sign of respect to someone, or as a festive dish at special events and holidays.
Recipe Ingredients
1 lb sirloin beef
2 chopped medium-sized onions
2 tablespoons minced ginger
Directions on how to make Ethiopian stir fried beef (Tibs)
Over medium heat, in a large-sized saucepan, melt butter. Then, add the garlic, ginger, and onions along with some berbere.
Lower the heat of the stove to medium-low and continue cooking and stirring for around 30 minutes until the onions start to darken.
Remove onions from pan and transfer them to a food processor and blend them well, but don’t let them turn into a purée.Then return them to the saucepan, add some salt, and keep them warm.
