Love wearing makeup? All of us do but with the rise in heat, we can't help but wonder what's the extra thing we can do to ensure the makeup lasts longer than 20 minutes. Fret no more. We spoke to an expert and here's what they have to say.
Whether it's making your way back to the office after two years or heading to a dinner date at a plush diner with your beau, the first thing that you do is use a primer, brush on oodles of mascara with a highlighter and start on the winged eyeliner. But 15 minutes in, the wing becomes cat eye and the primer gets diluted with sweat.
We can't help but wonder if there was a simple way to take care of the sweat, and the rise in humidity, and also ensure to keep the makeup intact. We went on to speak to makeup artist Zainab Bukhari who went on to share the easiest way to maintain your makeup for hours.

Prime(r) of your life – Sweat is the ultimate enemy here. Cakey foundation, smudged mascara; all these things are part and parcel of scorching summer days, but they need not be. To avoid oily, sweaty skin, use a light, mattifying primer to provide the perfect canvas to your foundation. Applying a tined moisturizer underneath with add a natural glow to your skin.
Go light on foundations – There’s something about trends that makes us redefine ourselves in an entirely new way. While heavy, full finish foundations were an essential in any look earlier, women of today and more receptive to the flaws and embrace them by giving minimum to medium coverage to their faces. BB creams are a great way to add sheen to your face. You can also go for effective concealers to cover the blemishes and layer it with a light foundation.
Go sheer on eyes – Most fashionistas may have their reservations about it as summers are often associated with a burst of colors, but if you choose understated eye shadows, you create a soothing appearance that will give your summer look the ethereal touch you desire. Color grading is the best way to highlight the eyes yet keep it minimal. Apply kohl instead of liquid eyeliner as it blends well with the nude eye shadow shades to add depth to your eyes.
Waterproof everything – This is an absolute no-brainer. Waterproof mascara will ensure your eyes have a definition are can survive the sweat that often slides down your forehead to smudge the eyes. Waterproof foundations or bases are also a great way to keep the base intact.

Lip stains are also a great way to provide sheer coverage to your lips on which you can build with your favourite pinks and peaches.
