Famous Italian Actor Hits Back at Liverpool Over Offensive Napoli Tweet
Salvatore Esposito, an Italian actor, known for his leading role in the Italian TV series Gomorrah hits back at Liverpool over their offensive tweet about Naples: ‘Liverpool is an important part of the UK’s drug gang infrastructure.’
The Reds caused controversy on Tuesday by adding their fans not to wear team colours when travelling to Naples for tonight’s Champions League clash against the Partenopei.
“We strongly recommend you avoid the city centre. If you chose to visit, please beware that you may be targeted for theft, robbery, or assault,” the Reds said, receiving negative reactions from Italy.
Among them was Salvatore Esposito, one of the most popular actors in Italy. Born in Naples and a die-hard Napoli fan, Esposito shared an article of the BBC where Liverpool is described as ‘an important part of the UK’s drug gang infrastructure.’
