Five Ghanaian Tech Startups To Pay Attention To In 2023
2023 should be an interesting time for Ghana’s tech ecosystem. According to Max Cuvellier, Ghana was in the top five African countries with the highest investments with about $0.2 billion raised in 2022.
So which companies or startups might make a big slash in Ghana this year?
We take a look at some startups which might make major news in terms of expansion, funding, or announcements of new products.
mPharma

mPharma is probably one of the best startups to come out of Ghana. The health tech company which is headed by CEO Gregory Rockson has raised $65 million in capital to date and has made strategic moves to expand to other African countries including acquisitions in Uganda.
We look forward to this year to see what moves the company makes. Will they announce a new acquisition in a new African country? Announce a new round of funding, or even possibly be acquired by a bigger company?
We’ll be keeping an eye on them for sure.
Float

Float has been quiet since last year when they announced that they had raised $17 million in a seed round. The startup later that year acquired Accounteer, a SaaS company in Nigeria for an undisclosed amount.
This year, we’re looking forward to seeing what moves the company makes especially in terms of expansion. The company currently operates in Nigeria so we might see an announcement of operations in Ghana this year. Read More…
