The Flow Festival, a prominent music event held in Helsinki's Suvilahti district, has received permission to continue in its traditional location until 2025. This news comes despite earlier announcements that 2023 would be the festival's final year in Suvilahti due to planned construction projects in the area. However, these construction plans did not proceed as anticipated, allowing the festival to extend its stay for at least two more years.
Tuomas Kallio, the festival's artistic director, mentioned that while the festival has the green light for 2024, the long-term future of the event in Suvilahti remains uncertain. The situation in Suvilahti is still considered flexible and not entirely conducive for long-term business planning.
The decision to extend the festival's presence in Suvilahti was communicated to the organizers earlier in 2024, although the public announcement was made just two weeks before the 2024 edition of the festival .
