Foreign trade registered exports for more than USD 9,300 million to August
Total exports as of August 2022 reached a value of USD 9,352.3 million, 1.6% lower than the USD 9,505.1 million as of August of the previous year, reported the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP).
The BCP Foreign Trade report details that, as of the eighth month of the year, registered exports represented 72.6% of the total, reaching USD 6,790.6 million, 6.9% lower than the accumulated value as of August 2021.
Re-exports, on the other hand, with 23% of the total, registered a value of USD 2,147.0 million, with an increase of 24.9% compared to the same period last year.
Other exports, with a 4.4% share, registered a decrease of 15.1% compared to the accumulated value as of August of the previous year, standing at a level of USD 414.8 million.
The reduction observed in registered exports is mainly explained by lower shipments of soybean grains, electricity and rice.
Shipments made under the maquila regime reached USD 670.2 million, 19.7% higher than what was registered in the eighth month of 2021.
As of August 2022, total imports reached USD 9,938.7 million, 25.5% higher than the same period of the previous year. Read More…
