Brazilian music icon Gilberto Gil has announced his definitive retirement from live performances at 82. This announcement, made on the 29th by his press team, confirms that Gil will continue to perform through next year across Brazil, the United States, and Europe, culminating in his farewell tour.
A notable stop on this tour will be at Teatro Positivo in Curitiba, Paraná, on November 9th. Gil's illustrious career, which has spanned over six decades, has seen him emerge as a pioneer of the Tropicalismo movement. He has an extensive repertoire of more than 780 songs, nearly 60 albums, and over 4 million records sold. His most recent album, “Ok Ok Ok,” was released in 2018.
