The skin on the rest of our bodies isn’t as sensitive or as thin as our facial skin but they still benefit from a lot of love! There’s a ton of brightening products out there but today let’s focus on a nourishing line.
Hello Glow recently launched their Sunflower Collection which features the power of an OG beauty ingredient. Sunflower oil is one of the best out there when it comes to moisturizing and soothing skin, repairing damage, and giving skin (and even hair) that supple, healthy texture. There are so many uses for this super oil from head to toe. If it’s dry, rough, itchy, or irritated, massaging pure sunflower oil helps instantly.
The Hello Glow Sunflower Multiuse Beauty Oil (P220/100ml) is a fantastic oil to have around in your beauty kit. It only has two ingredients: the sunflower oil and BHT which is an antioxidant to keep the oil from going rancid. It’s fragrance free and the oil itself is light - it doesn’t feel greasy as it gets absorbed into the skin fast. You can use it on your face even if you’re oily (you just need a 2-3 drops really) to help moisturize skin at night. Drier folks will definitely love it.
Sunflower oil, for me, really shines when you use it on your body. Use it as a body oil or just on areas where skin feels rough, such as the elbows, knees, and heels. If you have a recent wound, you can apply it after skin has scabbed over to keep the scar from being too obvious. It’s also great for new stretchmarks so skin can heal better. These are just some of my favorite uses for this oil!
I want to mention that not all sunflower oil is created equal. There are different brands and different levels of quality. I’ve tried a few of them as raw materials when I develop products so yes, I know what I’m talking about. This one from Hello Glow is pretty good - it’s lightweight for an oil and it has a dry finish. It’s not comparable to the ones you can buy per liter at Shopee! At P220 for 100ml, it’s a pretty good deal. If you can only get one thing from this Hello Glow collection, this would be it.
For the face, Hello Glow also introduced the Sunflower Serum Cleansing Foam (P220/150ml), Sunflower Serum Sheet Mask (P40/piece) the Sunflower Serum Toner Mist (P250/150ml). The mist features Centella Asiatica for soothing and Vitamin C for brightening. It’s fragrance free as well and it’s formulated to be used on the hair, face, and body. The cleansing foam has Niacinamide and Cica as well. I do have to note that the cleanser has a pH level of 9-10 based on my strips, so I would only recommend it if your skin is ok with high pH alkaline cleansers. Read More…
