Hong Kong's Economy Grew 4.8% in Fourth Quarter
Hong Kong's economy grew at the same pace as previously estimated in the fourth quarter of 2021, mainly owing to strong growth in private and government consumption expenditure.
Gross domestic product expanded 4.8% in the fourth quarter in real terms from a year earlier, according to data released by the government on Wednesday. That compared with the advance estimate of 4.8% growth.
By major GDP component, private consumption expenditure increased 5.8% in real terms in the fourth quarter from a year earlier, while government consumption expenditure grew 4.1% in real terms.
On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, the city's GDP grew 0.2% in real terms in the fourth quarter, the data showed. That compared with the advance estimate of 0.2% growth. Read More...
