How To Make Nigerian Buns (Mind Blowing Recipe)
Buns may have Nigerian or African roots but trust me when I tell you that despite this fact, many consumers of this Nigerian Dessert still have no clue that there’s a difference between Buns and Puff Puff.
They use them as interchangeably as Asun and Nkwobi, which are two dishes we also mistake with each other.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BUNS AND PUFF PUFF
You may have been confused or deceived for years, but your time of enlightenment has come, brothers and sisters of Food.
Figuring out the difference between Buns and Puff Puff is as simple as identifying the difference in their texture.
While Buns are often rock hard on the outside, Puff Puff on the other hand are soft on the outside just as it is soft on the inside.
Puff Puffs are also oily on the outside while Buns are not.
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED
· 3 cups of Flour
· 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
· 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
· 1/2 teaspoon of salt
· 1 teaspoon of grated lime
· 1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
· 3/4 cup of whole milk
· 4 large eggs (Optional. You can also make it without eggs)
· 2 teaspoons of vanilla flavoring
· 1/4 cup of melted butter or vegetable oil
· 1 bottle of Oil
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
· Medium bowl (For mixing)
· Large Sauce pan (For frying)
· Long spoon (To put batter into hot oil)
· Napkins or Tissue (To soak up excess oil)
DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO MAKE NIGERIAN BUNS

Step 1: Take your medium sized bowl (doesn’t matter if it’s plastic, glass or ceramic) and mix all the dry ingredients together (Flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, grated lime, and nutmeg.).
Step 2: Now add the wet ingredients like the whole milk, eggs (optional), vanilla flavoring and melted butter.
Stir altogether until the batter is thick and smooth to the point that you can pick it up in a spoon.
Step 3: Now we’re ready for frying. Grab your Sauce pan and pour oil to about the level of your pinky finger.
