IKEA recalls BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour over choking risk; no Singapore incidents reported

Swedish furniture giant IKEA is recalling its BLÅVINGAD fishing game over choking concerns and has advised customers to stop using it.
In a statement on Tuesday (21 March), IKEA said ontheir website that the small rivets of the toy can come loose, which can pose a choking hazard, especially for younger children. No such incidents have been reported in Singapore, IKEA said in their statement.
"Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are taking precautionary measures and recalling BLÅVINGAD fishing game multi-colour, due to a potential choking hazard," IKEA said. "IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards in the markets where they are sold." Returns are accepted at any IKEA store without a receipt for a full refund.
"IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall may cause," the Swedish home furnishing giant added. According to the manufacturer, the BLÅVINGAD collection is "designed to spark play and curiosity about the world’s largest habitat, from tots to tweens". "From our IKEA Kids’ Advisory Panel 2020, we learned that kids are very concerned about the ocean.
