Indosat and AIonOS Team Up to Create AI-Native Enterprises
In a groundbreaking move, Indonesian telecom giant Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has partnered with AIonOS to propel businesses into the AI-native enterprise era. This strategic alliance, revealed on Friday, underscores Indosat's commitment to accelerating AI sovereignty in Indonesia.
A Strategic Partnership
The partnership was solidified with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on July 18. AIonOS, a joint venture between India's InterGlobe and venture capital firm Assago Group, aims to leverage its expertise to develop a suite of AI solutions for Indosat. This collaboration is set to transform priority industries such as education technology (ed-tech) by offering a plug-and-play platform, facilitating the adoption of AI across various sectors.
Focus on Industry-Specific Solutions
Indosat and AIonOS plan to develop enterprise solutions embedded with AI, tailored to specific domains such as aviation. The initiative will also see the creation of "Data and AI in a Box," a suite designed to enhance Indosat's capabilities with advanced AI use cases. Key areas of focus include fraud prevention, identity solutions, and privacy-focused marketing technologies, all aimed at creating a secure digital ecosystem.
Driving AI Innovation in Indonesia
Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat, emphasized the transformative potential of this partnership. The collaboration aligns with Indosat's "AI3" (Artificial Intelligence for Indonesia by Indosat) initiative, which seeks to leverage AI to drive sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for Indonesians.
“By integrating cutting-edge AI solutions into our digital infrastructure, we are not only enhancing our technological capabilities but also ensuring that Indonesia remains at the forefront of global AI innovation,” Sinha stated. “Our goal is to harness the power of AI to drive sustainable growth, secure digital ecosystems, and ultimately, improve the quality of life for every Indonesian.”
A Year of AI Advancements
The AIonOS partnership is part of a series of AI-related advancements announced by Indosat this year. The journey began with an MoU signed with Nvidia at Mobile World Congress 2024, where Indosat and its subsidiary, Lintasarta, agreed to integrate Nvidia’s AI platform into Indonesian enterprises. This partnership aimed to provide customers with access to Nvidia’s GPU technologies through high-density data centers.
In March, Indosat announced the integration of Nvidia’s new Blackwell platform into its infrastructure. Earlier this month, the company launched a suite of AI-powered, cloud-based solutions designed to enhance the sustainability of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas industry.
Indosat's partnership with AIonOS marks a significant step towards transforming Indonesia into a leader in AI innovation. By developing tailored AI solutions and integrating advanced technologies into its digital infrastructure, Indosat is set to drive sustainable growth and improve the digital ecosystem in Indonesia. As the country embraces AI, the future looks promising for both businesses and consumers, paving the way for a more innovative and technologically advanced Indonesia.
