Inflation on consumer market reaches 26% in annual terms - State Statistics

Consumer price inflation in Ukraine reached 0.8% in January 2023 compared to December 2022, prices rose by 26.0% compared to January 2022, according to the State Statistics Service.
It is noted that the prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.4% in January. The prices for vegetables and fruits rose the most (by 6.4% and 4.4%). Prices for eggs, milk, soft drinks, bread, butter, meat and meat products, cheeses, and sunflower oil increased by 2.0–0.5%. At the same time, grain processing products, rice, lard, and sugar fell in price by 3.3–0.2%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 0.8%, in particular, on tobacco products - by 1.2%, alcoholic beverages - by 0.5%.
The increase in prices in the healthcare sector by 1.2% was primarily due to the growth in the price of outpatient services by 2.5% and hospital services by 2.3%.
Transport costs decreased by 0.1%, however, railway passenger transport fares rose by 3.2%.
The increase in the price for education services by 1.1% was mainly due to the rise in preschool education costs by 11.2%.
As reported by Ukrinform, consumer inflation in Ukraine at the end of 2022 came to 26.6%, which is less than the figures published in the first half of last year.
