Kim Petras unveils tracklist for debut album ‘Feed The Beast’
Kim Petras has unveiled the complete lineup, artwork, and release date for her highly anticipated first album, titled 'Feed The Beast'.
The budding star in the dance-pop genre had previously released her last full-length project, the mixtape 'Clarity', back in 2019. NME, in their glowing four-star review, described the record as "intricate" and "self-assured" while avoiding monotony. The publication concluded that the German singer-songwriter already exuded the aura of an authentic pop sensation.
Now, Petras has generously shared the captivating artwork and captivating tracklist for 'Feed The Beast', which includes the already-released hit singles 'Brrr', 'Unholy' featuring Sam Smith, and 'Alone' featuring Nicki Minaj. Additionally, alt-pop luminary BANKS makes a special guest appearance on the album.
Originally, her debut album was titled 'Problématique' and was initially confirmed in 2021. The album's lead single, 'Future Starts Now', debuted on August 27 after creating anticipation with a preview at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival. In December, Petras delighted fans with the release of the album's second single, 'Coconuts'.
In 2022, Petras faced an unfortunate setback when the album was leaked, resulting in her decision to "scrap" the project. Speaking to Billboard that year, she empathized with her fans, acknowledging the disappointment of witnessing an entire album disappear. She confessed, "That original album got me through the pandemic."
Nevertheless, the resilient 30-year-old artist bounced back in 2022 with the release of her third EP, 'Slut Pop', which included the captivating track 'Throat Goat'. The song garnered significant attention when a video of a sign language interpreter translating it at Sydney World Pride became a viral sensation.
