Linda Nolan has revealed that her stepson, Lloyd, has been diagnosed with cancer. This news comes as she continues to battle the disease herself, having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, which resurfaced in 2017 and has since spread to her brain, bones, and liver.
Linda Nolan, a 65-year-old singer from the popular band The Nolans, has shared the devastating news that her stepson, Lloyd, has been diagnosed with cancer. This diagnosis comes as she continues to battle the disease herself, having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, which resurfaced in 2017 and has since spread to her brain, bones, and liver.
The Nolan family has indeed had a rough time with cancer, with several sisters and family members affected by the disease. Linda's sister Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in 2020 and is now cancer-free. Another sister, Coleen, revealed she was diagnosed with skin cancer last year and was using a chemotherapy cream to remove it. Their sister Bernie died of breast cancer in 2013 aged 52.
Despite the challenges she's facing, Linda's attitude towards her cancer treatment is quite inspiring. She chooses not to dwell on the symptoms and instead focuses on living her life to the fullest, spending time with friends and family, and getting fresh air. Her philosophy is quite remarkable, considering the challenges she's facing. She said, "I know I've got cancer, I know I've got to have treatment, but I don't need to be dwelling on the fact that, 'Oh, I've got that symptom that might be happening'."
Speaking about how she is feeling, Linda said, "I was so jittery in the morning. I get so jittery, I can hardly walk, so I have to sit in the bed for 10 minutes to get my legs working, and then go downstairs and do whatever. I try and get out a lot, get fresh air, and spend time with my friends and my family." She also revealed that immunotherapy has been working on her cancer, and the tumours are "not as big as they were originally, but they are still bigger".
Linda will be starting a new cancer drug after scans showed the tumours in her brain have grown. She said, "So they put me on another chemo where I might lose my hair the fifth time. And, yeah, it's a weird feeling." She previously revealed that she is going to take the life-extending drug for incurable breast cancer Enhertu.
Viewers watching Linda's appearance on Good Morning Britain were quick to offer their support and admiration. One fan commented, "This woman is bl**dy amazing.
