Lydia Molai to host arts exhibition
Lydia Molai, a talented artist whose work centers around nature, will be hosting an upcoming arts exhibition named 'Mavambo' at the Pikicha Gallery located in the Helensview shopping center. The exhibition will take place from May 17 to 19, and is free for all to attend.
At the age of 31, Molai is looking to advance her career as an artist and is exploring a new avenue by venturing into industrial design through the 'Mavambo' project. Her artwork, which is published under the brand name 'Lydia Arts,' mainly consists of paintings and drawings.
Lydia Arts was established in 2020 with a vision to become a global leader in all forms of art. The brand is currently managed by a team of five people including Judith, Talent, Kudakwashe, Joshua, and Lydia herself. They strive to stay up to date with the latest trends in the world of art, including portraits and paintings.
The name of the exhibition, 'Mavambo,' was chosen by Molai as it symbolizes the beginning of her new journey as an industrial designer. Molai explains that she is reintroducing herself as Lydia the Industrial Designer as she has been studying creative art and industrial design at Chinhoyi University of Technology, where she is currently in her final semester.
"Mavambo signifies the start of my journey as an industrial designer. I previously worked with paintings and drawings, but now, because of my degree, I am branching out into industrial design," Molai said.
Her exhibition will showcase a range of artwork featuring nature, including landscapes, animals, drawings, paintings, and even furniture designs printed with fabric.
The exhibition is free to attend from May 17 to 19, and all artworks on display will be available for purchase.
