Malaysia Airlines to Resume Direct Flights Between Kuala Lumpur and Kolkata
Malaysia Airlines is set to reinstate direct flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Kolkata (CCU) starting December 2, 2024. This move expands the airline's presence in India, bringing its direct connectivity to the country to a total of 10 destinations, including major cities like New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai.
The airline will operate five weekly flights on this route using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flight MH184 will depart from Kuala Lumpur to Kolkata at 9:35 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The return flight, MH185, will leave Kolkata for Kuala Lumpur at 12:10 AM.
This strategic expansion follows the successful launch of daily operations to Amritsar last month, underscoring Malaysia Airlines' commitment to strengthening its footprint in one of its key international markets. With the addition of the Kolkata route and increased frequencies from Amritsar, the airline now offers 76 weekly flights between India and Malaysia.
Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, CEO of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group, expressed enthusiasm about the recommencement, highlighting the airline's dedication to enhancing connectivity between Malaysia and India. He emphasized the importance of the Indian market and the airline's goal to provide exceptional travel experiences, supported by Malaysia Airlines' renowned hospitality. The airline aims to position Kuala Lumpur as a gateway to Asia and beyond, offering seamless connections to global hubs.
To celebrate the route's reopening, Malaysia Airlines is offering special introductory fares starting from RM1,499 for an all-in return via Economy Class. These fares are available from October 8, 2024, to November 8, 2024, for travel beginning December 2, 2024, as part of the "Time for Kolkata" campaign.
