Mali African School Championship: CSTS of Kati (girls) and LSBOS of Kabala (boys) win the trophies
The two finals were chaired by Mossa Ag Attaher, Minister of Youth and Sports, in charge of Civic Education and Citizen Construction, in the presence of Mamoutou Touré dit Bavieux, President of the Malian Football Federation, Mrs. Dao Fatoumata Guindo , former Minister and former President of the Malian Football Standardization Committee, as well as several sports officials in the country.
This first edition of the African school championship in Mali began on June 23, 2022 with 16 schools (8 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams) from the Academies of Bamako, Kati and Kalaban Coro. After a few weeks of competition, the boys’ final opposed the Lycée Sportif Ben Oumar Sy to the Samba Rama School of Tiébani. As for the girls’ final, it opposed the “Les Talents” school complex to the Noumorila school in Kati.
For the boys’ final, the players of the Lycée Sportif Ben Oumar Sy of Kabala won against the players of the Samba Ramata School of Tiébani by the score of 5-1. As for the final of the girls, it is turned to the advantage of the players of the “Les Talents” school complex against the players of the Noumorila School of Kati by the score of 7-0.
The winners (boys and girls) of the tournament, namely the “Les Talents” school complex and the Lycée Sportif Ben Oumar Sy each received an envelope of 400,000 CFA francs, while the unfortunate finalists (the Noumorila School of Kati and Samba Ramata School in Tiébani), each pocketed a sum of 250,000 CFA francs.
For the individual awards, Sitan Sacko (School complex « Les Talents ») and Sory Ibrahim Traoré (Noumorila School of Kati) won the trophy for the best goalkeeper and the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
