Massive power outages in TEPCO service area
Tokyo Electric Power Company says more than 2.09 million households in nine prefectures in its service area are being left without electricity after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck northeastern Japan.
These include more than 700,000 households in Tokyo, over 300,000 in Kanagawa, more than 290,000 in Saitama, over 210,000 in Chiba, more than 220,000 in Ibaraki, more than 120,000 in Tochigi, more than 80,000 in Gunma, more than 110,000 in Yamanashi, and over 26,000 in Shizuoka.
