Mixed day for defending Champions Damani, Wanderers In T20 National League
Aziz Damani, the defending champions of the men’s T20 league had a small bump when they took on their second side the newly promoted Aziz Damani Development and went down by a big 56 runs in the 1st game.
Roger Mukasa (74) with a half-century that helped the Development side post a decent total with support coming from Brian Masaba (20).
In response, Simon Ssesazi (40) and Riazat Ali Shah (36) tried to chase down the big total but ran out of resources with 56 runs still required for the win.
The champions, however, were able to pick themselves up in the second game in Lugogo to win a low-scoring match by 17 runs.
Aziz Damani set a small total with all the wickets for the development side picked up by the spinners led by the veteran Frank Nsubuga (3/15).
In the chase, only Brian Masaba (32) and Robinson Obuya (25) tried to chase down the total but failed to find reliable partners as the champions got over the line with 17 runs still required.
At the lakeside oval in Entebbe Avengers and Wanderers shared the results with Avengers winning by 71 runs in the morning with Wanderers getting the better of them in the afternoon by 4 wickets. Read More…
