Moldova to Host 46th World Congress of Vine and Wine in 2025
International wine community to gather in Chișinău for key industry event
The Republic of Moldova is set to host the 46th World Congress of Vine and Wine in its capital, Chișinău, from June 16 to 20, 2025. This significant event was officially announced by Her Excellency Corina Călugăru, the Moldovan Ambassador to France, during a launch event held on February 4 in Paris at the Maison de l'Alsace. The announcement was celebrated by representatives from the international community, embassies, and foreign media, highlighting Moldova's important role in the global wine industry.
At the event, Ambassador Călugăru was joined by Andrian Digolean, State Secretary of the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, and Ștefan Lamandi, Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine of Moldova. They expressed the country's commitment to organizing a successful congress while showcasing Moldova's rich winemaking heritage and ongoing innovations in the sector.
The OIV World Congress of Vine and Wine is a pivotal gathering for the global vitivinicultural sector, bringing together researchers, industry professionals, and state delegates from around the world. It serves as a platform for sharing the latest scientific advancements and includes the General Assembly of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).
The theme for the 2025 congress will be "Charting the Future of Vine and Wine: Embracing Resilience, Elevating Value, Fostering Innovation." OIV Director General John Barker emphasized the importance of resilience, value, and innovation as guiding principles for the future of the vine and wine industry in his address.
