More than 5 thousand applicants took the first exam of the UNI Admission Process 2023-1
The National University of Engineering (UNI) successfully began this Monday, February 13, with its in-person entrance exam, which will continue on the 15th and 17th of this month, for the 5,059 applicants registered for the 2023-1 Admission Contest , in what is considered one of the most demanding entrance tests in Peru.
In total there are 1,397 vacancies in all modalities (1,151 to start a career, and 246 for external transfer), of which 567 vacancies belong to the ordinary income modality. The contestants seek to enter one of the 29 specialties offered by the UNI, distributed in its 11 faculties.
During today's session, the rector of the UNI, Dr. Alfonso López Chau Nava, was present, who, accompanied by his vice-rectors, deans, among other authorities; They toured our facilities to supervise the correct development of the exam.
Applicants seek access to one of the vacancies
It is important to note that, of the total number of registered applicants, 5 of them have disabilities . Likewise, 76% of the applicants are men and 24% women; In addition, 41% are young people between the ages of 17 and 18. Similarly, 65% of the applicants come from the city of Lima, while 35% belong to the interior of the country.
The most requested specialties are Civil Engineering (19%), Systems Engineering (15%), and Architecture (12%); among other.
The UNI admission contest consists of three exams, which began on February 13 with the Academic Aptitude and Humanities test; on February 15 with the Mathematics test; and will culminate on February 17 with the Physics and Chemistry exam. Additionally, for applicants to the specialty of Architecture, on Saturday, February 11, the Vocational Aptitude test was taken.

Security measures
The UNI has carried out a series of measures for the proper functioning of the activities during admission days, for which reason it has metal detectors such as Garrett devices and security arches.
Likewise, applicants are completely prohibited from carrying technological devices (cell phones, laptops, tablets); head garment (jacket, shirt, hat, chullo); any type of supplies (pencil case, eraser, ruler, pencil, sharpener, calculator, books, reprints, sheets, magazines; backpacks, purses, backpacks, briefcases); or ornaments (earrings, rings, watch, piercing, key chains), for a better identification and development of the exam.
