On September 8, the film directed by Huancaíno filmmaker Hans Matos Cámac will be released in theaters across the country.
Bantamweight tells the story of Enrique (Max Huiza), a teenage boxer who lives in Huancayo with his grandmother, Digna. The coach asks him to bring his identity document to register him and represent his city in a national championship. For Enrique, this simple request will become a problem.
In the film, the protagonist has to wage a personal fight facing the lack of support from his own father and the almost zero opportunities in a city like Huancayo that, like many others in Peru, does not pay attention to sports like boxing or a youth trying to make their way in life. Read More…
